Three-Year Plan and Goals
WEreckognize’s three-year plan reflects a phased approach to building capacity and achieving measurable impact:
1. Year 1–2: Building the Foundation
• Strengthen organizational infrastructure and develop comprehensive service offerings.
• Build partnerships with recovery-focused organizations and local stakeholders.
• Establish a robust training program for peer support providers and housing managers.
2. Year 3: Scaling Advocacy and Expanding Impact
• Launch state and local advocacy campaigns to promote recovery-friendly housing and eliminate punitive barriers.
• Expand outreach efforts to underserved and underrepresented populations.
• Strengthen leadership in sustainable recovery housing by sharing best practices and success stories.
Gaps in Current Approach and Planned Solutions
1. Insufficient Housing Resources
• Gap: The need for affordable, recovery-friendly housing exceeds current availability.
• Solution: Advocate for increased state funding and incentivize private sector partnerships to expand recovery housing options.
2. Underdeveloped Advocacy Initiatives
• Gap: Advocacy efforts are limited as the organization focuses on foundational development.
• Solution: Begin advocacy groundwork in Year 1, including policy research and coalition-building, to prepare for a larger impact in Year 3.
3. Limited Accessibility
• Gap: Some individuals in rural or underserved areas may lack access to in-person services.
• Solution: Expand virtual services, including peer support and educational workshops, to bridge the gap.
In Summary
WEreckognize aligns with RCO national standards by prioritizing policy advocacy, community education, and peer recovery support services. While gaps in housing, advocacy, and accessibility exist, our phased approach ensures that these challenges are addressed with thoughtful planning, community input, and a commitment to continuous improvement. By building on our strengths and remaining adaptable, WEreckognize will establish a strong, sustainable presence that meets the needs of the recovery community.
